Pest Control Chorley, Rats at Domestic Property

I have been asked to undertake some recent new work in Chorley.  Rats have been using a gap under the brickwork to the rear of a house to gain access through the cavity to the kitchen area.

As you can see from the pictures, the large hole behind the fridge in the kitchen, as black smear marks around it from were the rats have been passing through on a regular basis.

Rats have a natural grease on their body which they smear on to surfaces when they pass through things.

I have placed poison at the entrance to hole and under the floor in the house and an external box in the yard next to the large hole under the brickwork as shown in the picture.

Mice Problem at Car Showroom, Preston

I have taken on another large commercial contract in Preston for a large car showroom which as been having a mouse problem and they cannot afford for the mice to get in to the very expensive cars and start chewing on the wiring or the interior. I’ve placed plastic mouse boxes around the work shop and car storage area to protect against this. I’m also going to be carrying out some proofing work on there behalf outside of the building to prevent anymore mice from getting in.

Rats in Loft. Standish, Wigan

I have started a job in Standish, Wigan for noises in the loft which turns out to be Rats.  I have put a treatment in place (i.e. baited the loft, and under the bath). I have surveyed along the terrace of houses and located a fault on one soil pipe.

The rats have tunneled out of the ground, up the side of the soil stack.  This will require digging out and repairing any drain fault found and then concreting.

I also inspected the manhole chambers in the garden and found several fresh rat droppings in each drain as shown in the picture

The work is ongoing.

Rats Problem in Preston

I went out yesterday to a job where rats had been seen in the shed; a complaint off New Hall Lane, Preston.  On arrival I found several rat holes around the base of the shed and lots of rat droppings in side.  The lady who owned the house has been seeing rats each day, coming and going from her wheelie bin and back into the shed through holes in the woodwork, made by the rats

I have placed two tamper resistant bait stations outside, to the rear of the shed and placed 3 trays of loose bait inside behind the locked door as the owner has a cat and who don’t want this to come in contact with the poison

I will return next week to check and replenish any bait that as been taken.

Mole Problem at School in Liverpool

I was asked by a school in Liverpool to treat their mole issue, I surveyed and set up mole traps yesterday.

As you can see from the pictures they have a significant number of mole hills damaging the grassed areas around the school.  Moles can cause significant damage to your grassland by tunnelling through the soil. With heavy infestations, the ground can become unstable so it is always advisable to get a professional pest controller to remedy the problem as early as possible.

Pest Control Preston, Rats at Doctors’ Surgery

Another pest control job I recently carried out, was in Preston.  I was requested to attend a doctors’ surgery in Preston town centre as the staff had found chewed face masks in a cupboard within one of their treatment rooms.  I attended and removed the plinth from under the cupboard and found a large hole going under the floor.  There were chewed up face masks that had been pulled under the cupboard that would have been used for nesting material.

I placed loose bait under the cupboard and then surveyed outside for ingress points.  As you can see from the pictures, I found a hole in the brickwork underneath the fire escape to the rear of the building.  After treatment of the rats has been carried out, I will be proofing this hole.
